South Beach Diet, Day 4

Filed under: South Beach Diet Log — Tara @ 8:48 am

Well, things are getting easier on this darn diet. I’ve found some really good recipes, and at minimum, at least I’m eating better. I had this great Snapper (fish) for dinner–called “Fish in a Bag.” Good stuff. I’ve cut out breakfast too. Frankly, I’m sick of eggs, and I haven’t found another recipe that is quick and sounds good. I usually didn’t eat breakfast anyway, so it hasn’t affected me much.

Breakfast: NA
Snack: cottage cheese and hot sauce
Lunch: Tuna salad salad
Snack: 2 string cheese
Dinner: Fish in a bag (Snapper, onions, tomatoes)
Dessert: Fudgesicle, Peanut Butter Cookie

Weight loss/gain: even (4 lbs total)

Oh, and if anyone wants recipes for anything that I’ve cooked, let me know. In fact, I might just start posting the good recipes…

South Beach Diet, Day 2

Filed under: South Beach Diet Log — Tara @ 1:01 pm

Well, I made it through today ok–I find the busier I am, the easier it is to not think about what I’m eating (or not eating). So, without further ado…

Breakfast: 2 egg, cheese and sausage biscuits
Snack: 20 peanuts
Lunch: salad with chicken
Snack: cottage cheese
Dinner: leftover sirloin steak and beans
Dessert: NA

Weight loss/gain: lost 1 lbs. (3 lbs total)

Today was a little harder for me, both at work, and after work when I was at Target. I don’t think I realized how much I snack in between meals. Candy bar here, popcorn there. Then, to make matters worse, at Target, I was in the halloween candy department, and later, the snacks department. Talk about torture! Having to pull forward bag after bag of candy. I was so ready to pull out one of those butterfinger bars. Man…

South Beach Diet, Day 1

Filed under: South Beach Diet Log — Tara @ 7:23 am

Well, I took the plunge yesterday and started up the South Beach Diet. I figure a good way to keep track of what I’m doing is to post a quick log on here about what I ate, how I felt, etc. Sunday night, I did the big shopping spree to get lunches and breakfast for all week, and dinner for yesterday. So far, so good. It’s going to be a pain in the butt to skip out on pastas and soda (and alcohol!), but I have faith in myself. So, here is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast: 2 Sausage and Cheese Biscuits
Snack: 20 peanuts
Lunch: Salad with parmesean cheese, chicken, homemade dressing
Snack: Sugar free Fudgesicle
Dinner: Stuffed sirloin steak, broccoli
Dessert: Sugerfree fudgesicle (they’re GOOD!)

No major hunger pains or anything throughout the day. The only hard part was not going out to the bar after my softball game–I suppose I could have gone, but the temptation to drink/eat wings would have been too great.

Today will be the next challenge, as I won’t have much time for dinner. We’ll see how things go.
