I could not find Wisconsins definition of a lake anywhere, nor could I find total acreage of lakes in WI. If you can find it, I would really like to know. Texas on the other hand. I want to say counts a body of water larger than 3 acres as a lake (thats a pond here in MN). And on this site http://www.knls.org/English/akfact.htm It states that Alaska has 3 million lakes. So maybe if on "pick your state slogan day" the Wisconsin delegate wasn't passed out, you could of had your "land of 15,000 lakes" on your license plate.
