Lets be fair….. the Buffet experience is not so much dependant on it’s venue as it is on one’s level of intoxication. The correct amount of rum will make an outhouse or a taxi cab look like a purple talking parrot just the same. That being said, I suppose there are a few things that can be analyzed about this red hot debate of alpine vs Wrigley.

Wrigley field seating consists of straight rows surrounding the playing field making it much easier to pass the doob in an organized fashion. This cuts out almost all doobey passing confusion. Alpine’s lawn seats do not afford such a luxury.

Now Hardy – you mention people peeing on the hill? Well at least when it rains, it gets rinsed off. In the flatlands of IL it has no place to go and just pools up. Coincidentally, this is rumored to be how Chicago was created

Now lets take a look at which venue better suits the Buffet “atmosphere” which would be best described as tropical.

Alpine has girls in bikini’s and Tiki bars scattered all over the place.

Lets see – Wrigely has girls in XXX Urlacher jersey’s with mustaches, and if you tried to set up a Tiki bar, it would be immediately shut down by the city, you would be fined, harassed, arrested, and have 4 mob hits put out on you. In fact the only tropical aspect I can think of in Chicago is the clown fish over at the shed aquarium. And even he is leaning against a street pole smoking a cigarette.

It is a long walk to your car at alpine……… but for most of us that’s just a few more minutes tip back a couple more drinks with our pals. Which sure beats getting mugged in the streets of Chicago… not to mention when you do get back to your car, at least you know it’ll be there.

I guess you could say I’m Pro-Alpine in this debate. I’m not sure why Jimmy decided to go to Chicago last year, but we’re all glad he recognized his mistake. I’m actually guessing the Make-a-wish foundation must of had something to do with it.

I’d still go see ferris bueller sing twist N shout on Michigan street though

Oh and…………. The cubs suck!

I’m sure his concert was great in Chicago. But it’s not a concert venue–it’s a ballpark. And for me, the grass seats, the long hike to the car, the wait to get out–that’s what I look forward to because I’m doing it with friends and with strangers who share common interests.
