Grand Avenue?
For anyone that has visited or lives in Milwaukee, you’ve probably heard of Grand Avenue Mall. It’s right in the middle of downtown.
Here’s my question: How is the mall named Grand Avenue? There is no street around there with the name of “Grand Avenue,” as far as I know. Is Wisconsin Avenue (the road that the mall is on) just “grand?”
I’m sure Heraldblog has some sort of explanation for me. Must be some silly name that the Republicans thought of, right? ![]()
Grand also means large. Think “Grand Canyon” or “Grand Tetons”.
The Grand Old Party, on the other hand”, is comprised of very small minded people. Go figure.
