South Beach Diet, Day 4

Filed under: South Beach Diet Log — Tara @ 8:48 am

Well, things are getting easier on this darn diet. I’ve found some really good recipes, and at minimum, at least I’m eating better. I had this great Snapper (fish) for dinner–called “Fish in a Bag.” Good stuff. I’ve cut out breakfast too. Frankly, I’m sick of eggs, and I haven’t found another recipe that is quick and sounds good. I usually didn’t eat breakfast anyway, so it hasn’t affected me much.

Breakfast: NA
Snack: cottage cheese and hot sauce
Lunch: Tuna salad salad
Snack: 2 string cheese
Dinner: Fish in a bag (Snapper, onions, tomatoes)
Dessert: Fudgesicle, Peanut Butter Cookie

Weight loss/gain: even (4 lbs total)

Oh, and if anyone wants recipes for anything that I’ve cooked, let me know. In fact, I might just start posting the good recipes…

  1. Unfortunately, the slim fast shakes aren’t actually the healthiest thing and don’t work well with this diet.

I got this off of the Slim Fast Website for the Creamy Milk Chocolate Shakes:
    1 can has…
    220 calories
    3 grams fat
    40 grams of carbs
    34 grams of sugars

For some people, yes, going from a 1180 calorie value meal from McDonalds to a Slim Fast shake that has 220 calories is good, but for the South Beach Diet, the stress is on low or NO sugars and low or NO fats. Not to mention the calories would add up fast.

BUT, I do know I need to start eating breakfast, you’re completely right, Bon. So, breakfast from now on is going to be some fat free cottage cheese, cinnamon, and splenda. Sounds pretty good…
