South Beach Diet, Day 1

Filed under: South Beach Diet Log — Tara @ 7:23 am

Well, I took the plunge yesterday and started up the South Beach Diet. I figure a good way to keep track of what I’m doing is to post a quick log on here about what I ate, how I felt, etc. Sunday night, I did the big shopping spree to get lunches and breakfast for all week, and dinner for yesterday. So far, so good. It’s going to be a pain in the butt to skip out on pastas and soda (and alcohol!), but I have faith in myself. So, here is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast: 2 Sausage and Cheese Biscuits
Snack: 20 peanuts
Lunch: Salad with parmesean cheese, chicken, homemade dressing
Snack: Sugar free Fudgesicle
Dinner: Stuffed sirloin steak, broccoli
Dessert: Sugerfree fudgesicle (they’re GOOD!)

No major hunger pains or anything throughout the day. The only hard part was not going out to the bar after my softball game–I suppose I could have gone, but the temptation to drink/eat wings would have been too great.

Today will be the next challenge, as I won’t have much time for dinner. We’ll see how things go.

  4. You see, the cool thing about South Beach is that if I totally botch up, I can just stay on Phase 1 (or go back to it) to re-lose the weight again. By the time NOLA come around, I can splurge as much as I like, I’ll just have to make up for it by heading down to Phase 1 again when I get home.

  5. that sounds like what a bulimic would do (without the whole puking part). i think i will rename this diet the South Bulimic diet. lets all binge and phase 1 together now.
