Last night was just like any night that we play softball. We got there early to warm up, and were ready to play when the game before us was over. Well, the game before us ended on a pretty sour note. This big guy is up to bat, and we hear the umpire go, “Strike!” Now, mind you, this is the FIRST strike against this guy–he still gets one more. Well, right away after the ump says strike, the big guy FLIPS OUT. “That’s fucking bullshit, that’s not a strike! You are the worst ump I have ever seen! You are so inconsistent.” While he is yelling at the poor ump, he pulled the bat back and honestly looked like he was going to hit him with it–but luckily he just whipped it at the fence. The ump throws him out of the game, and the big guy starts storming away. The ump said something like, “you’re out of the game,” and the big guy goes, “awwww…. you can suck my dick.”

Wow.

We had the same ump for our game, and he wasn’t that bad. His strike zone was rather big, but it wasn’t horrible. I found out after the game that the team that the big guy was on wasn’t even close to winning the game either–it was like 19-3 or something like that. Come on buddy–you’re in a co-ed, social softball league… is it really worth it to do that? Do you feel more like a man?

I wasn’t planning on writing about this, but then I saw this article online today about a guy in New York who was ticked off because he was asked to leave a video store, so he pissed all over everything. Hope it was worth getting arrested for.
