Amber finished her Marathon!!

Meet Amber:

Amber

For those of you that don’t know Amber, she’s one of my many “teacher-friends” and I used to live with her and she is getting married soon and she rocks.

AND, she’s in Hawaii right now because she’s walking in a 1/2 marathon for the American Stroke Assocation. Two summers ago (almost to the date), Amber had a stroke. She was very lucky, and recovered 100%, but let me tell you, that was a scary ordeal. It’s rare that someone would come out of that without any side effects, but Amber managed.

Anyhow, congrats goes out to Amber, who left me a voicemail today telling me that she finished the marathon this past Sunday in 4 hours and 20 minutes. It’s amazing to me that someone who had a stroke 2 years ago could walk 13+ miles in Hawaii today, but I’m so glad that she has that ability and strength.

Everyone should probably give her a big congrats in my comments section so she can read that when she gets back!!!
